Iranian architecture is usually associated with the historical monuments of ancient Persia, or with significant clay and brick constructions dating from between the 17th and the 19th centuries. However, modern Iranian architecture is very much at home in the 21st century, and Negar Hakim’s important new book illustrates this fact in a fascinating way. Over 360 pages, the book presents fourteen of Iran’s most significant architectural studios, along with a selection of their most exciting projects – showing that modern architecture is able to surprise and inspire, over and over again.
