dc.description.abstract
This 3D point cloud model is an assemblage of student design proposals developed in the design studio Making Greenways led by Guest Prof. Philipp Urech and Univ.-Prof Susann Ahn at TU Wien. Focused on the Wien River, the studio explored blue-green infrastructure strategies for enhancing urban livability, climate resilience, and ecological diversity. Using site-specific digital modelling techniques, students envisioned linear park typologies inspired by international greenway precedents, particularly from Seoul. The assembled point cloud model, geolocated in EPSG 31256 and edited from the 2023 Aerial Laser Scan of the City of Vienna (data.wien.gv.at), regroups these proposals into a single model that visualizes alternative futures for the river corridor within Vienna’s urban landscape.
