Followed by an explanation about different alpine sports and their development it is shown where these sports can be found in a city like Vienna. In the second part of this treatise some of this information is worked into a plan. The fallow building site is situated in the district Ottakring in Vienna and is near to the suburban train and the Kongresspark. Aim of this projects is to show how vitality in this area can be improved. A combination of sports, culture and residential buildings is planned on the former industrial site so that living standard is increased. In addition, green space for the residents is planned to develop a better connection between the two parts of the city which are now separated by the suburban train.
