Zukunftsfragen des Baubetriebs - Lean Construction

Abstract

Im Vergleich zu anderen Branchen leidet die Bauindustrie unter einer geringen Produktivität. Begründet wird diese einerseits durch eine nicht zufriedenstellende Zuverlässigkeit kurzzyklischer Terminzusagen und andererseits durch die Generierung von Verschwendung in den auszuführenden Tätigkeiten. Derzeit können nur rund 50 % aller zugesicherten Zusagen tatsächlich gehalten werden.2 Die mangelnde Organisation des Arbeitsprozesses führt zudem oft zu langen Wartezeiten und nichtwertschöpfenden Nacharbeiten auf der Baustelle. Steigende Anforderungen an Bauwerke in den Bereichen Energieeffizienz und Ressourcenoptimierung bestärken den Bedarf eines Umschwungs in der Baubranche. Einen vielversprechenden Ansatz zukünftige Herausforderungen zu bewerkstelligen liefert der Managementansatz Lean Construction. Die Analyse und Standardisierung von Prozessen sowie eine partnerschaftliche Zusammenarbeit mit allen Projektbeteiligten stehen im Fokus. Diese Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Anwendung und Weiterentwicklung von Lean Management Ansätzen im Bauausführungsprozess. Es werden die aus der Automobilindustrie stammenden Grundlagen des Lean Managements erläutert und die Übertragung auf das Bauwesen beschrieben. Grundwerte von Lean Construction wie der Fluss von Prozessen, die Generierung von Wert aus Sicht des Kunden sowie die Vermeidung von Verschwendung durch eine kontinuierliche Verbesserung werden anhand von anwendungsorientierten Werkzeugen und Methoden vorgestellt. Die Grundlage dieser Arbeit bildet eine wissenschaftliche Begleitung eines Projektes aus der Praxis. Neben einer ausführlichen Dokumentation der angewendeten Methoden Last Planner System und Taktplanung wurden leitfadengestützte Interviews mit verantwortlichen Projektteilnehmern der Bereiche Baumeisterarbeiten, HKLS, Elektroinstallation, Fassade und Stahl-bau, Trockenbau sowie der Projektund Bauleitung geführt. Anhand von Auswertungen zu definierten Themenblöcken lassen sich Einschätzungen zur Erwartungshaltung, den erforderlichen Voraussetzungen für die Anwendung von Lean Construction sowie Optimierungspotenziale für Folgeprojekte ableiten. Die Weiterentwicklung eines effizienten und transparenten Bauausführungsprozesses auf Ba-sis partnerschaftlicher Zusammenarbeit im Sinne der Lean Philosophie hat das Potenzial, durch Steigerung der Produktivität auf der Baustelle zu einer erfolgreichen Bewältigung bevor-stehender Herausforderungen in der Baubranche beizutragen.

Compared to many other industries, the construction industry suffers from a lower productivity. This situation is justified by the unsatisfactory reliability of short-cycle commitments and a high amount of waste on the construction site. Currently, only about 50 % of all binding agreements can be held. The lack of organization of the work process leads to long waiting times and non-value-added rework on the construction site. Increasing demands on buildings in terms of energy efficiency and resource optimization encourage the need for a change in the construction industry. A promising approach to accomplish future challenges is provided by the management philosophy of Lean Construction. The focus is on analysis and standardization of processes as well as partnership-based cooperation with all project participants. This master thesis deals with the application and further development of lean management approaches in the construction process. At the beginning, the foundations of lean management and the adaption to the construction process are described. Lean Construction core values, such as the flow of processes, the generation of the maximum possible amount of value from the customer`s point of view as well as the minimization of waste through continuous improvement, are presented by using application-oriented tools and methods. A scientific support of a practical project represents the basis of this research paper. In addition to a detailed documentation of the applied methods, such as the Last Planner System or Taktplanning, guided interviews were conducted with responsible project participants in the fields of construction works, HVAC, electrical installation, facade and steel construction, dry-wall as well as project and construction management. Evaluations of defined subject blocks have been used to derive expectations, requirements for the application of Lean Construction and optimizations for follow-up projects. The development of an efficient and transparent construction process based on the collaboration of all project participants has the potential to contribute to a successful mastering of challenges in the construction industry by increasing the productivity on the construction site.
