Das Aktionsfeld der Diplomarbeit liegt im Norden der Metropole Paris, außerhalb des historischen Stadtzentrums - extra-muros - im Departement Seine-Saint-Denis, bekannt als 93. Es handelt sich konkret um das Quartier Gare Saint-Denis in der Stadt Saint-Denis. Ein von einer Vielzahl an unterschiedlichsten terrains vagues und der sozialen Lage seiner Bewohner charakterisierter Stadtteil. Das Quartier erstreckt sich um dem Gare Saint-Denis der RER D und ist durch den Kanal Saint-Denis sowie der Seine raeumlich begrenzt. Dieses Quartier liegt in unmittelbarer Naehe des historisch gewachsenen Stadtzentrums und befindet sich in Transformation zu einem neuen Stadtteil mit einer ueberwiegenden Wohn- und Bueronutzung.<br />Bezugnehmend auf die aktuelle Diskussion ueber Grand Paris, die von präsidentieller Stelle initiiert wurde, soll die Diplomarbeit urbane Taktiken entwickeln, die einen Kontrapunkt zu den vorgestellten großraeumigen, urbanen Visionen entwickeln. Diese sollen effizienter und schneller auf die vorherrschend komplexen Situationen von diesem Bereich Grand Paris reagieren koennen.<br />Die Grundlage fuer die Diplomarbeit bildet die kritische Auseinandersetzung mit der aktuellen Produktion von Stadt, dessen sozialen Problemen, das Auftreten neuer informeller urbaner Praktiken und die lokalen Rahmenbedingungen der Planung der nord-oestlichen Banlieue von Paris. Unterschiedliche, meist von der Gesellschaft ausgegrenzt Bevoelkerungsgruppen besetzen und benutzen Freiraeume des Stadtraumes, um dort zu wohnen, Handel zu treiben, ihre kulturelle Traditionen zu leben und Freizeit zu verbringen. Diese Eigendynamiken von informellen, selbstorganisierten Netzwerken und ungeplanten Strukturen werden wissenschaftlich erforscht und dienen als Ausgangspunkt fuer die Entwicklung eines Mikro-Projektes.<br />Raeumlich liegt das Interesse der Diplomarbeit hauptsaechlich in den Zwischenbereichen, brachliegenden Grundstuecken und verlassenen Gebaeuden im heterogenen urbanen Gewebe der nordoestlichen banlieue parisienne, die von Gemeinden und Eigentuemer aus unterschiedlichen Gruenden auf unbestimmte Zeit auf stand-by gestellt sind und somit der Oeffentlichkeit aktuell nicht zur Verfuegung stehen. Diese sind ideale Moeglichkeitsraeume, um alternative raeumliche Tatkien anzuwenden.<br />Der Gedanke, leerstehende Gebaeude zu recyceln, ungenutzte Freiflaechen oeffentlich zugaenglich zu machen und bestehende soziale Ressourcen zu nutzen, wird aufgegriffen. Mit Hilfe von eigeninitiierten Prozessen, welche im kleinen Massstab arbeiten, sollen diese neu programmierten Orten zu einem Impulsgebern fuer das Quartier werden. Es sollen aktive Raeume fuer die ansaessigen Gemeinschaften entstehen. Saint-Denis bietet mit seinem großen Migrationsanteil und den damit verbundenen unterschiedlichen sozialen und kulturellen Ressourcen vielfältigste Anknuepfungspunkte mit enormen Potenzial, um experimentelle Loesungen zu entwickeln. Mit der speziell fuer das Quartier Saint-Denis entwickelten Taktik, welche leicht realisierbar ist und in mehreren Etappen umgesetzt wird, soll eine neue Basis fuer eine sozial nachhaltige Stadtentwicklung in diesem Stadtteil von Saint-Denis stimuliert werden.
