dc.description.abstract
Other than European options, whose payoff depends only on the value of the underlying at maturity, Asian options belong to the group of path-dependent options. The price of such options is usually determined by doing a Monte Carlo simulation, which has a high average calculating time. The aim of this thesis is to achieve an efficient performance of that simulation. Therefore importance sampling is used to reduce the number of needed paths by reducing variance by changing measure. The needed change of measure is found by Schilder's theorem.
Afterwards this method is applied to geometric and arithmetic average Asian call and put options.
