Bürgerzentrum für Vallcarca, Barcelona : ein städtebaulicher Entwurf zur Stärkung eines Stadtquartiers

Abstract

Die folgende Diplomarbeit setzt sich mit dem Stadtteil „Vallcarca“ in der spanischen Stadt Barcelona auseinander. .Bei „Vallcarca" handelt es sich um ein sog. „Barrio“, das von den EinwohnerInnenBarcelonas als „noch authentisch“ bezeichnet wird, dies vor allemdeshalb, da es in diesem Stadtteil Barcelonas kaum Tourismus gibt. Die folgende Arbeit setzt sich mit diesen Themen auseinander.Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist zunächst eine Klärung der sozialpolitischen Situationder Stadt und des „Barrios“ im Hinblick auf die Themenkreise„Identität“ und „Nachbarschaft“.Weiters wird die historische Entwicklung näher dargestellt, um darausmögliche Zukunftsperspektiven für das Viertel und seine BewohnerInnenableiten zu können. Es wird eine umfassende, städtebauliche und sozialräumlicheAnalyse des Standorts erstellt, welche die aktuellen Bedürfnisseder Einwohner des Viertels zeigt.Diese Analyse dient als Basis für den städtebaulichen Entwurf und derAusarbeitung eines sog. „Centre Civic“ (übersetzt:„Bürgerzentrum“).Über Architektur und neuem öffentlichen Raum sollen damit identitätsstiftende,aktivierte Räume entstehen.Ziel ist letztlich einerseits die Wiederherstellung der Identität von Vallcarcaund die (Re-) Vitalisierung des „Barrio“.

The following thesis deals with the district of „Vallcarca“ in the Spanishcity of Barcelona. Identified, activatedspaces are to be created over architecture and new public space.Ultimately, the goal is on the one hand to restore the identity of Vallcarcaand on the other hand to (re) vitalize the “Barrio”.
