dc.description.abstract

Above the ancient fortification wall of the city of Durres (Albania) is conceptualised another form of the city promenade. A footpath along the wall revitalizes the area, activates the old hiking trails, offers interesting sightseeings and attracts visitors through lingering stations. In a gap between buildings along the footpath, a pavillon connects the city center with the new promenade. Functions such as an exhibitions area, a library and an opened stage fulfill needs of the residents.
