The core objective of this thesis is to identify economic benefits of controlled charging in comparison to individual charging of Electric Vehicle (EV) fleets. Therefore, to get a broad overview, various scenarios caused by different market penetration rates of the EV fleet in a rural and the urban area are made. These findings are in reference of assumed generation and demand mixes in different case study areas which are based on demand values for every quarter of an hour. The model therefore is done with MATLAB and for easy altering of the input parameters, which define the areas; a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is made. Based on the results of the MATLAB model predications are done concerning the economics of the areas. In this thesis the economics are evaluated from the view of the electricity supplier. It includes on the one hand buying and purchasing energy on the market at peak and off peak times and on the other hand an analysis of the resulting grid burden due to the different starting times for charging. It is shown, that due to controlled charging the revenues are increasing for all market penetration rates and there is less grid burden occuring in the urban case.
