dc.description.abstract
We report on direct ultrafast electro-absorption switching in colloidal CdSe/CdS core/shell quantum dots driven by intense THz pulses without a field enhancing structure, and suggest a route to optimize electro-absorption modulators with respect to the energy band alignment of the heterostructure material.
