dc.description.abstract
dc.description.abstract
Auricular triphase stimulation is an alternate method of treatment for pain relief and is a big milestone of the medical science today. The ear of the patient is stimulated via electrical pulses on the nerve location. Main requirements are technical tools which support the medical scientist to fulfil the auricular triphase stimulation selective and repeatable.
Target of this document is the description of the development of prototypes for a transillumination-device to find the location of the nerves and the development of the application software for different operating systems.
Main contribution for the preparation of the transillumination-device was the development of 3 prototypes to prove the functionality and the clinical practice on real patients. The technical expertise was used for the development of the following prototypes.
For a comfortable handling of the stimulation system the development of the application software for different operating systems was done. One part was the extension of the existing software for Windows operating systems using the development environment C#. The main part was the new development of the application software for the Apple MacBook and the Apple iPhone. For choosing the right development environment for the Apple devices a comprehensive research of the existing computer languages was done.
