Das Schilfnest. Ein Seehotel in Illmitz am Neusiedler See

Abstract

Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit behandelt den Entwurf eines Hotels. Der Standort befindet sich am Strandbadgelände von Illmitz direkt am Seeufer des Neusiedlersees, im Herzen des „Weltkulturerbes Neusiedler See - Fertö“ und an der Grenze zum „Nationalpark Neusiedler See - Seewinkel“. Dank einer intensiven Analyse der Historie, der Landschaft und der Baukultur, soll sich das Projekt harmonisch in die Umgebung einfügen und die Qualitäten der Region unterstreichen.Die Hotelanlage wurde in seiner Gesamtheit aus den umliegenden Einflüssen entworfen. Das Gebäude soll sich mit der Landschaft verschmelzen und zum Aushängeschild der Region werden. Durch gezielte Angebote wie Restaurant, Café, Seminarräume und einem Wellnessbereich sollen neue Anreize für das Gebiet entstehen und so viele neue Menschen in den Seewinkel holen.

This diploma thesis deals with the design of a hotel. The location is on the beach area of Illmitz, directly on the shore of Lake Neusiedl, in the heart of the „Neusiedler See - Fertö World Heritage Site“ and on the border to the „Neusiedler See - Seewinkel National Park“. Thanks to an intensive analysis of the history, the landscape and the building culture, the project should blend harmoniously into the environment and underline the qualities of the region. The hotel complex was designed in its entirety from the surrounding influences. Therefore the building should blend into the landscape and become a figurehead of the region. Precise functions such as a restaurant, café, seminar rooms and a wellness area are intended to create new incentives for the area and thus attract many new people to the Seewinkel. The project is intended to show that large-scale architecture that meets the high demands of the region can be integrated into the sensitive environment of the Neusiedler See - Fertö World Heritage Site.
