dc.description.abstract
The debate around network neutrality (NN) has become more intense and controversial. The basic NN principle states that all traffic in the Internet must be treated equally. It is undeniable that NN fosters innovation in the Internet, ensuring fair competition and freedom of choice. The papers in this special issue explore multiple facets of the problem, including the economical factors behind NN, dealing with multiple NN jurisdictions across international Internet paths and designing in-network caching strategies that are neutral.
