Electro-optic sampling of the emission from a terahertz quantum cascade laser The task of this master thesis consists of the design and set-up of an experiment for electro-optic sampling of the terahertz beam emitted by a Quantum Cascade Laser. The emission characteristics of a single mode QCL and the noise performance of the electro-optic detection set-up is determined. Simulations and calculations on the electro-optic signal detection supplement and aid the experimental work.
