Das Inkrafttreten diverser Emissionsrichtlinien, wie etwa jene der amerikanischen Environmental Protection Agency EPA, U.S. EPA Tier 4, erfordert umfangreiche Maßnahmen zur Schadstoffreduktion. Eines der Hauptaugenmerke liegt dabei auf der Emission von Stickstoff-Oxiden, welche auf den menschlichen Organismus schon in kleinen Mengen hoch toxisch wirken können. Motorenhersteller reagieren auf diese Richtlinien bereits im Vorfeld und nutzen zur Erreichung der Entwicklungsziele Simulationssoftware, welche eine schnelle Voraussage über Motoreigenschaften zulässt. Ein komplettes Motormodell besteht aus einer Vielzahl an Einzelmodellen, welche die Tendenzen und Eigenschaften eines Motors mit einer entsprechenden Genauigkeit wiedergeben. Unter diesen Modellen befinden sich auch jene, die Informationen über Emissionen liefern. Die chemischen Vorgänge während der Verbrennung sind hoch komplex und mathematisch aufwendig nur durch Differentialgleichungen zu erfassen. Entsprechend aufwendig ist die Berechnung und Kalibrierung eines Motormodells, welches auch ein Emissionsmodell beinhaltet. Aus diesen Randbedingungen ist die Aufgabe entstanden, ein empirisches Modell für Stickoxid-Emissionen zu entwickeln. Es soll durch einfache Anwendung, das heißt ein-zonige Zylinderberechnung, schnell zu einem möglichst genauen Ergebnis führen. Die zu Grunde liegenden Messungen stammen von einem Einzylinder Forschungsmotor. Sie sind im Zuge der U.S. EPA Tier 2 Entwicklungen entstanden. Die gemessenen Variationen umfassen jene Parameter, welche an einem Prüfstand vorgenommen werden können. Kombiniert wurden diese mit Prozessrechnungsergebnissen, die am Prüfstand nicht messbar sind. Das Grundmodell ist das Ergebnis einer sogenannten statistischen Versuchsplanung, bekannt als Design of Experiments (DoE). DoE reagiert auf Grundparameter, wie etwa das Timing der Verbrennung oder den Raildruck. Das so errechnete Grundmodell besitzt mathematische Erweiterungen um weitere Einflüsse wie Ladelufttemperatur, Miller-Timing oder AGR zu berücksichtigen. In Summe ist man in der Lage mit diesem empirischen Modell eine Genauigkeit von besser als 10% Abweichung zu erreichen, ohne eine Kalibrierung von komplexen Strahlmodellen durchführen zu müssen. Das bedeutet man erhält innerhalb kurzer Zeit sehr gute Ergebnisse über die Tendenz der Emissionsentwicklung durch den Einfluss mehrerer Parameter. Das Ziel, die Methodik auf einen Großmotor anzuwenden und ein Tool zur schnellen Emissionsabschätzung zur Verfügung zu stellen, wurde damit erreicht. | |
