dc.description.abstract
The topic of this paper is to research for possible solutions aimed at attracting IT&C specialists on employment platforms as a solution to provide a higher pool of candidates to companies in the field, and thus to determine a shorter time to hire. Delays in recruitment processes can seriously affect the companies' activities, especially for those where the specialists seeked for are involved in the companies' production processes. The research comprised both groups involved in recruitment processes, IT&C specialists and HR specialists working in this field. The research used a combination of methods, such as online surveys, interviews and focus group as qualitative research instruments. The quantitative surveys were conducted both in Romania and in Austria in order to compare the two environments and to understand if there are any differences based on cultural or economical background that can influence this process. The results have emphasized the motivation of IT&C specialists to contribute to and to be present in the online environment as well as the main means they use in order to search or look for jobs. The empirical results also underlined the sources recruiters hire most from in IT&C field (defined in the present research mainly as software and services) and the problems they encounter in sourcing candidates. The solutions proposed have focused both on short-term and long-term impact in terms of sourcing candidates for this field as well as for providing an improved business model for employment platforms, by changing their actual set-up and services.
