Die postindustrielle Unternehmensbaukultur in Europa basiert
auf dem rasanten Wandel der Industrie im letzten
Jahrhundert. Der Weg weg von der Fertigungs- hin zu einer
ortsungebundenen Finanzindustrie brachte nicht nur Veränderungen
der Organisationsformen von Unternehmen, sondern in der
Folge auch des Charakters der Städte mit sich. Das Fließbandmodell
der fordistisch-tayloristischen Ära mit ihren Massenarbeitsplätzen
läuft heute in menschenleeren Produktionshallen mit automatisierter
Robotertechnik oder im von Hightech-Spezialisten
bevölkerten Produktionsgeschoß von Wafer-Fabriken der Chip-Produktion.
Die weltweit gestreuten, vernetzten Unternehmen machen
eine gegenläufige Entwicklungen durch, so auch ihre Baukultur.
Die Industriebetriebe sind nicht mehr die Bauherren, sondern temporäre
Mieter der Immobilien von Developern und Investoren, deren
Architektur vom Markt bestimmt wird. Bauten als banale, wiederverwertbare Massenprodukte mehren sich. Bietet die Corporate
Architecture einen Ausweg in Richtung qualitativer Planung der
Industriebauten als wiederkehrende Bausteine der Kernstädte?
