dc.description.abstract

dc.description.abstract
Every bridge construction project has a different complexity and individuality. Due to these different boundary conditions, there is no optimal bridge construction method. The quest for optimal technical and economic solutions for bridge construction projects is always driven by the further development of building materials, manufacturing techniques and the increasing possibilities of computer-aided calculations. All this led to the development of the Balanced Lift Method at the TU Wien. This master thesis describes the construction stages of the first application of the balanced lift method for the S7 bridge across the Lahnbach river. After a general explanation of this computational intensive bridge construction method, the construction stages are analyzed and optimized with the aid of a numerical simulation. Proposed solutions for a realistic modeling of the lifting process and the following construction stages are developed. Especially in the analysis of deformations, the model provides more accurate results than in previous scientific projects. The entire building process is analyzed, starting with the lifting of the first structural elements in the prefabrication plant and ending with the completion of the main structure. Based on these calculations, the most important construction stages are evaluated and all necessary structural details are prepared. This is necessary to guarantee an optimal realization of the S7 bridge across the Lahnbach. The results of the numerical simulation will be compared with the values of the construction project realized in summer of 2019.
