dc.description.abstract
The goal of this MBA thesis was to explain on the theoretical as well as practical basis the role of the information broker. A scope of 120 persons was interviewed in order to find out how information brokerage works. The New Management Model was chosen as setup of the organizational transformation for the empirical study. Possible limitations of this research work may be in the scope oriented only on the management team and employees of the Daimler AG. The aspects of social networking were considered in this MBA thesis as major way of searching for information. Various theoretical models were analysed here. Apart of others, the small world phenomenon, the role of technology and the attributes of an information broker were scrutinized here. The empirical part was based on three cases. Requirement for these cases was on the one hand the heterogeneity of the information access (various sources of the same information) in the corporation (Daimler AG) and the heterogeneity of the information as such (various information topics).
