dc.description.abstract
The purpose of this work is to investigate certain classes of approximation methods for the numerical solution of ordinary differential equations (ODEs), especially certain variants of multi-step methods. The stability of the methods is analyzed with special focus on the influence of parasitic solution components, which have a negative effect on their stability behavior. Different approaches are discussed.
