dc.description.abstract
To push forward the optimization of manufacturing processes, more and more data is being generated, extracted and stored. The aim here is to create a digital match of the real conditions during the processes in order to be able to execute advanced, more detailed analyses from this. The way these analyses are executed can be conservatively manual, through targeted queries from the generated data, or by algorithms, which are also referred to as artificial intelligence and identify certain process logics within the data sets. For a sustainable, efficient and thus practical analysis of this data, it must not only be stored, rather a comprehensive, fundamental concept for linking corresponding data from all phases of the production of a workpiece must be developed and implemented. The digital image of a manufacturing process described above can be generated and used through the targeted combination of information from design, production planning, manufacturing and qualitative investigation. The critical factor in developing this data structure is to establish an appropriately high resolution within the concept. In order to be able to implement the advanced analysis options described above, each machining operation performed on a real machine must be clearly assignable to its outcome. This is the only way to tap the full potential of the information generated by the increasingly established sensor systems and thus achieve added value. In this thesis, a concept for the mentioned data structure is developed, implemented within a PostgreSQL database and subsequently verified by an first trial. A feature-based approach is used for this purpose. Specifically, the procedures around subtractive manufacturing processes are treated. In addition to the sustainable linking of data, the possibility of automated retrieval of the required information from the systems involved in the process flow plays a decisive role. Appropriate systems are also being developed for this purpose and the implementation is documented within the present work.
