dc.description.abstract
A novel GaP semiconductor contact grating THz source with trapezoidal line profile, pumped at the mid-infrared wavelength of 3.9 μm, is demonstrated. The source can be scaled to high electric fields due to the plane-parallel geometry, the availability of good-quality large GaP crystals, and the large bandwidth of up to 6 THz.
