Investigations into the development of a thermochemical energy storage system for household appliances. Simulation characterization of the added value of an energy storage system from the point of view of energy efficiency. The storage of heat with the aid of thermochemical storage systems has increasingly become the focus of scientific attention in recent years. Due to constantly rising energy prices and increased demands on energy consumption in terms of sustainability, there is an increasing search for alternative technologies to conventional heat storage. These conventional systems rely on sensible or latent heat storage. Compared to these systems, thermochemical storage systems have a higher energy density, which makes them an attractive alternative. In contrast to the established systems, however, thermochemical storage systems are still in the development or test phase. Furthermore, the research focus is on the storage of useful heat in buildings, which is generated by heat pumps or solar thermal energy. Due to the high energy density of thermochemical storage systems compared to conventional systems, other applications are conceivable in addition to use in buildings. The investigation of such a use case is the focus of this work. This is an analysis of the possible use of thermochemical storage in baking ovens for the purpose of recuperating heat. The approach is divided into three parts. In the theoretical part, the current state of the art is considered and, in general, the possibility of using thermochemical storage systems in baking ovens is investigated. In the second part, the thermodynamic and geometric boundary conditions that must apply to such a system are determined. The aim is to have a framework for further simulation analysis and working points where optimizations can be made. In the third and last part of this work, practical preliminary tests are carried out on a mind under development. These have the goal of linking the theoretical system with the practical one to be able to verify and validate optimally the necessary sizes of theoretical model practically.
