Ein Raum als Meisterstück : Räumliche Interventionen im Bestand

Abstract

Für jedes Bedürfnis und jeden Benutzer den passenden Raum zu kreieren, ist das große Ziel der Architektur, ein Ziel, das nur durch die enge Zusammenarbeit von Planer und Ausführendem gelingen kann. Das Handwerk ist die Grundlage jeder räumlichen Veränderung. Abstrakte Ideen, die in Bildern oder Plänen formuliert werden, können durch den erfahrenen Handwerker vervollständigt und so am Ende verwirklicht werden. Im Haus meiner Großeltern habe ich in einem mehrjährigen Prozess verschiedenste räumliche Experimente und Interventionen durchgeführt. Eine genaue Analyse des Bestandes gab Hinweise auf dringend notwendige Verbesserungen und mögliche Potenziale. In der folgenden Arbeit sind diese dokumentiert und die daraus gewonnenen Erkenntnisse fließen in einen Entwurf für das bis jetzt unberührte Dachgeschoß ein.Analyse, Planung und Umsetzung in 1:1 sind zu gleichen Teilen notwendig, um das Ergebnis greifbar zu machen, und so war von Anfang an geplant, den Entwurf auch in die Realität umzusetzen. Im Prozess des Bauens kann man auf ganz natürliche Weise Entscheidungen treffen, ihre Wirkung überprüfen und so spielerisch zu einem Ergebnis kommen. Wie in der Tradition des Handwerks, will ich am Ende meines Studiums ein Meisterstück abgeben. Ein Haus als Meisterstück

Creating the right space for every need and every user is the main goal of architecture, a goal that can only be achieved through close cooperation between the planner and the executor. Craftsmanship is the basis for every spatial transformation. Abstract ideas captured in pictures or plans, can come to life through the hands of an experienced craftsman. During the last couple of years, I have implemented several spatial experiments and interventions at my Grandparent’s house. A detailed analysis of the existing structure gave indications of urgently needed improvements and possible potential. In the following thesis all changes to the structure of the house are documented and as a result this lead in to the design for a new attic.Analysis, planning and implementation on a 1:1 scale are necessary in equal parts to make the result tangible, and so it was planned from the outset to turn the design into reality. The process of building gives the opportunity to adjust the design and make final decisions during the completion. Traditionally the craftsman finishes his education with a masterpiece. I want to follow that tradition and therefore finish my studies with presenting a masterpiece. A house as a Masterpiece
