We present to graduate and undergraduate students the recent developments in experiments in coupling microwave-cavity photons to spin ensembles (NV-centers) at the Atominstitut. Prospective practical applications including quantum memory, quantum sensing, and quantum interconnect (in quantum computer technologies) are discussed.
