dc.description.abstract
Werner Lauterborn expressed a "last project" to me as: "Then I have one last big wish, namely to participate in the work with [Lawrence] Crum, in particular helping with the draft, discussion and conclusions etc." Unfortunately, this wish is now left to do for his scholars. It is about the image of the iconic jetting bubble that nearly everyone in the community knows, for instance from the book by Leighton (p. 534, Fig. 5.50). It was produced in a mixture of water and glycerol at reduced atmospheric pressure and a shaking boundary with frequency of 60Hz. Consequently, the presentation will be about the simulation and investigation of bubbles at low ambient pressure.
