dc.description.abstract
Th-229 has the lowest known first nuclear exited state, which makes it an ideal candidate for a prospective nuclear optical clock. Until now energy and lifetime of this isomer state are known with insufficient accuracy. For a direct (photonic) measurement of this state background effects are not neglectable. This thesis discusses light emissions occurring as background in different approaches of direct isomer energy measurements.
