Hanser, V., Schöbinger, M., & Hollaus, K. (2024, September 16). Effective Material Modelling for Laminated Iron Cores with an A-Formulation and Circuit Coupling [Conference Presentation]. 21st International IGTE Symposium 2024, Graz, Austria.
In effective medium theory, a material parameter of a heterogeneous structure is replaced by an effective material. This effective material is derived from solving a cell problem and used in a simulation with a homogenised core. The results of this simulation can be used to determine the eddy current losses and reactive power of machines or transformers with laminated cores. For this work, a nonlinear magnetic material is employed to simulate a single-phase transformer, providing insights into its performance.
