Abstract:
Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit befasst sich mit der Analyse und dem Vorschlag für die Aufwertung und Sanierung des ehemaligen Militärgeländes in Brixen, Italien, auf dem sich die Schenoni-Kaserne befindet. Das Kasernen-Areal liegt in Milland, dem alten Industriegebiet der Stadt Brixen und ist seit 2008 weitgehend ungenutzt. Das 1,6 Hektar große Gebiet sowie zahlreiche Gebäude des Kasernen-Areals sind seit Oktober 2022 im Besitz der Gemeinde Brixen und von Industriebauten sowie von neuerrichteten Wohnhäusern umgeben. Die ungenutzten Flächen des Areals eignen sich aufgrund ihrer Lage in besonderem Maß als Ort des kulturellen und sozialen Austausches, um Milland mit dem Rest der Stadt Brixen interagieren zu lassen. Der Schwerpunkt des Diploms liegt daher auf der Planung eines Kultur- und Veranstaltungszentrums auf dem Kasernenplatz des ehemaligen Militärgeländes,wodurch Brixen einen neuen öffentlichen Begegnungs- und Austauschraum erhält. Ziel ist es,einen Gebäudeentwurf für eine vielfältige kulturelle und soziale Nutzung zu entwickeln und dabei auf die stadträumliche Situierung der bestehenden Bebauung Rücksicht zu nehmen.

The thesis deals with the analysis and the proposal for the valorisation and redevelopment of the former military site in Brixen, Italy, where the Schenoni barracks are located. The barracks site is located in Milland, the old industrial area of the cityof Brixen, and has been largely unused since 2008.The 1.6-hectare site, with most of the buildings on the barracks site has been owned by the municipality of Brixen since October 2022 and is surrounded by industrial buildings as well as newly constructed residential buildings.The area requires a place for cultural and social exchange, allowing Milland to interact with the rest of the city of Brixen. Therefore, the focus of the thesis lies in planning a cultural and event center on the barracks square of the former military site,providing Brixen with a new public meeting and exchange space. The goal is to develop a building design that accommodates diverse cultural and social uses while considering the existing structure and scale of the surrounding buildings.
