An important goal of the circular economy is to keep products and resources in circulation as long as possible. To achieve this, it is important to extend the life of products and their parts. Therefor different concepts to extend the life of individual components exists, but all of them start with disassembly. That is why efficient disassembly planning is essential to effectively implement a circular economy. The purpose of this work is to develop a logic that simplifies the disassembly process of a product by proposing an optimal disassembly sequence. The developed algorithm is based on the geometric data of a product and should be efficient, robust and universally applicable. Based on a systematic literature analysis, which includes literature from the last 20 years, the current developments regarding disassembly algorithms were shown and based on this, a robust, efficient and universally applicable logic was developed. It is important to identify possible sequences, avoid interlocking constructions and at the same time keep the runtime short. To achieve this, an Ant Colony Optimisation algorithm is combined with the identification of subassemblies. The algorithm for identifying subassemblies provides the necessary robustness and makes it possible to avoid interlocking. These subassemblies can be optimised using an Ant Colony Optimisation algorithm, which is very efficient due to its heuristic approach. The logic is developed in the Python programming language and uses the FreeCAD API. To make the logic easy to use, a user interface was created that executes the algorithm and requires a CAD file as the only input. This simple algorithm is designed to help companies better understand product disassembly and move them towards a circular economy.
