Abstract

Der Klimawandel und die Überhitzung unserer urbanen Umgebung schreitet stetig voran. Architektur und Bauindustrie spielen in diesem Prozess eine wichtige Rolle. Ob dabei eine positive oder negative Rolle eingenommen wird, hängt maßgeblich von Baumethoden, Materialien und der Entwürfe ab. Die Frage die diese Arbeit sucht zu beantworten: Wie kann Vorfertigung, Modulbauweise, automatisierte Entwurfsprozesse und intensive Begrünung dazu beitragen unsere städtische Umgebung schöner, lebenswerter, grüner, kühler und nachhaltiger zu gestalten? Dabei stehen im Mittelpunkt zwei Probleme. Erstens, dass realisierte Projekte, welche sich mit Modulbauweise beschäftigen, oft architektonisch in eine banale Richtung abgleiten. Auch wenn es möglicherweise für unser Klima nachhaltiger als traditionelle Baumethoden ist kann dabei Schönheit und Lebensqualität verloren gehen. Zweitens, dass durch den Klimawandel vor allem unsere urbanen Umgebungen immer heißer werden und dass die voranschreitende Versiegelung unsere Böden deshalb in nahe Zukunft keine Option mehr sein wird. Deswegen wird in dieser Arbeit ein modulares System entwickelt, welches unsere städtische Umgebung neu und grün denkt, Vorfertigung und automatisierte Entwurfsprozesse mit einbezieht und eine Architektur schafft, welche durch die entstehende Lebensqualität der Nutzer und der Auswahl der Baumethode nachhaltig ist.

Climate change and the overheating of our urban environment is accelerating at a rapid pace. Architecture and the building industry play an important role in that process. Whether they play a positive or a negative role, depends heavily on construction methods, material choice and architectural design.The question that this project seeks to answer is: How can prefabrication, modular construction methods, automated design processes and intensive plantation aid to the process of making our building environment more beautiful, greener, cooler, and sustainable?In the center of this discussion lie two problems. First, realized projects, which use modular construction methods often slide into an architectural banal direction. Even though it might be more sustainable than normal construction methods, beauty and quality of life for the user are often disregarded. Second, because of climate change, our urban environment is getting hotter and hotter every year and the advancing sealing of our soils is not going to be an option anymore in the near future.Therefore, in this project a modular system is developed, which has the goal to change how we think about our building environment, to include prefabrication and automated design processes and to produce architecture, which is, because of the quality of life of the inhabitant and because of the choice of construction method inherently sustainable.
