Hotel im Weingarten

Abstract

Meine Diplomarbeit befasst sich mit dem Entwurf eines Weingartenhotels inmitten der Weinhänge am Südufer der Wachau. Da die Wachau zahlreiche Aktivitäten zu bieten hat, wird das Hotel auf Wanderer, Radfahrer, Wein- und Kulturliebhaber und besonders erholungsbedürftige Gäste ausgerichtet. Durch separate Chalets im Weingarten wird der Fokus besonders auf die Erholung inmitten der Natur, inmitten des Weins gelegt. Die Architektur des Hotels soll sich in das Landschaftsbild einfügen, auf die Umgebung und die Weingärten reagieren. Die Lage des Hotels zeichnet sich einerseits durch die Nähe zur Donau, den Rad- und Wanderwegen sowie zahlreichen Winzern und Heurigen aus und andererseits liegt es am rechten Donauufer etwas abseits der Haupttouristenorte, um einen ruhigen und erholsamen Aufenthalt mit atemberaubender Kulisse zu gewährleisten. Und dennoch liegt das Hotel zentral genug, um mit dem Rad oder Schiff die gesamte Wachau zu erkunden. Insbesondere soll das Hotel auch als Bühne für umliegende und vor allem kleinere Weinbau- und Heurigenbetriebe fungieren, um Wein und Kulinarik bei Verkostungen und Seminaren der Öffentlichkeit näherbringen zu können.

This diploma thesis deals with the design of a hotel in the middle of the vineyards on the south bank of the Wachau. As the Wachau has numerous activities to offer, the hotel is to be designed for hikers, cyclists, wine- and culture lovers as well as for guests in need of relaxation. Separate chalets within the vineyards set the focus on relaxation in the middle of nature and in the middle of wine. The architecture of the hotel should blend in with the landscape, react to the surroundings and the vineyards. On the one hand the location of the hotel is characterized by its proximity to the Danube, the cycling- and hiking trails as well as numerous winegrowers and wine taverns. On the other hand it is located on the right bank of the Danube, off the main tourist spots to ensure a quiet and relaxing stay with a breathtaking view. At the same time, the site of the hotel is perfectly located to explore the entire Wachau by bike or boat.The hotel is also intended to act as a stage for the surrounding and especially smaller winegrowers and wine taverns to bring wine as well as culinary delights into the public during tastings and seminars.
