dc.description.abstract

This thesis deas with the generation of load data for the design of gearboxes of electrically powered automobiles. Measurement data of test drives with three different vehicles are evaluated. With this data, load spectra are generated reperesenting the load of a total vehicle lifetime. Therefore, an existing lifetime cycle (for vehicles with combustion engines) is replicated and adapted for the application of electrically powered cars. In addition a new cycle is being created by applying other routes, where measurement data of these routes are analyzed and combined. Here, the aim is to find a new cycle which leads to a similar load on the gearbox as the initial cycle. In the next step a simulation model is created that simulates torque and speed at the gearbox during driving. Route data are prepared for simulation, where the gradient profiles of the routes as well as the speed profiles are applied. Comparing the simulated torques on the output of the gearbox to the measured torques allows for calibration of the model. Measured data as well as the simulation model are used to determine the influence of vehicle parameters such as vehicle mass, motor power and maximum torque on the load acting on the gearbox. Additionally, the impact of the recuperation strategy on the coast load is evaluated. The results show that the mass and the power-to-weight ratio of the vehicle have main impact on the load during traction conditions. The coast load is dominated by the limitation of power and torque during recuperation.
