The VLBI Global Observing System (VGOS) represents a comprehensive overhaul of the VLBI system, under development since 2005. This system incorporates a broadband spectrum (2-14 GHz) and rapid, compact antennas. The redesign aims to enhance observational precision by supporting higher temporal resolution. VGOS observations have been made available for geodetic analysis through the International VLBI Service for Geodesy and Astrometry (IVS) since 2019.
Our study encompasses an analysis of VGOS sessions conducted from 2019 to 2023. Presently, there are 13 operational VGOS stations, all of which have participated in the selected VGOS sessions throughout this period. In this investigation, we also utilized non-tidal surface loading (NTSL) data provided by the International Mass Loading Service (IMLS) to evaluate the impact of NTSL on VGOS data. A total of 36 baselines were analyzed after processing five years of VGOS sessions. This study addresses the noise in the baselines observed in VGOS sessions through statistical analysis. Additionally, we investigate the variance reduction coefficient (R) to determine the improvement in each baseline due to NTSL corrections.
