dc.description.abstract
Over the past century thermoelectric research focused on semiconducting materials. On the other hand, metals have been dismissed due to small Seebeck effects, even though they feature mechanical properties beneficial for applications. Here, we introduce a novel paradigm to achieve ultrahigh thermoelectric performance in metals. As we tune the energy dependent conductivity through electronic scattering, we realize new world record thermoelectric power factors.
