dc.description.abstract
Multi-locality is a relevant issue in regional development because of its multi-layered, even spatial, effects. As a highly individual and constantly changing lifestyle, multi-locality and the transformation of rural areas influence each other. The article is based on the research project "Spatial options for action in the context of multi-locality and rural areas" (Lead: TU Vienna). Based on an analysis of multi-locality in the context of the heterogeneity of rural regions, options for action were identified in the five fields of action of housing, mobility, infrastructure, work and participation. As part of the empirical research of the study, ten explorative, problem-centred interviews were conducted with stakeholders in planning policy and social integration. This provided key insights into the opportunities and challenges associated with multi-locality in the four study areas. The resulting recommendations are based on the everyday practice of the stakeholders addressed and existing (planning) processes
