dc.description.abstract
The increased distributed generation share on the grids is challenging their operation. Storage technologies are considered the most essential alternative for overcoming these challenges and enlarging the hosting capacity of low-voltage grids on distributed generation (rooftop photovoltaics). This work develops a model that examines the integration of storage systems from a technical, economic and ecological perspective. Four scenarios are developed, calculated and evaluated, with two scenarios dealing with customer-installed battery storage systems with different operating modes, one based on a grid-installed central battery storage system, and one using a hydrogen storage system.
