Umnutzung der stillgelegten Fleckalmbahn Bergstation in den Kitzbüheler Alpen

Abstract

Die Alpen sind ein Magnet für viele Menschen und ziehen Jahr für Jahr zahlreiche Gäste in die Berge. Im Westen Österreichs spielt der Tourismus eine bedeutende Rolle, so zum Beispiel auch im weltberühmten Wintersportort Kitzbühel.Besonders der Skitourismus hat zur Besiedlung der Berge im letzten Jahrhundert beigetragen. Pisten und Seilbahnanlagen prägen heute vielerorts die Kulturlandschaft. Doch auch eine Seilbahnanlage wird eines Tages stillgelegt, so wie die alte Fleckalmbahn im Skigebiet KitzSki. Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit befasst sich mit der Umnutzung der stillgelegten Bergstation der alten Fleckalmbahn in den Kitzbüheler Alpen. Diese thront nur wenige Meter neben dem Gipfel der Ehrenbachhöhe, dem höchsten Punkt des Hahnenkamms und wartet auf eine neue sinnvolle Nutzung. Anhand der Analyse des Standortes, der lokalen Architektur, die durch den Künstler und Architekten Alfons Walde maßgeblich geprägt wurde, und einer analytischen Betrachtung unterschiedlicher Hütten und Restaurants im Alpenraum werden Entwurfsparameter entwickelt. Dabei wird insbesondere auf die Materialität, die Raumanordnung, das Tragwerk sowie die Gebäudetechnik eingegangen. Der abschließende Entwurf greift maßgeblich in die bestehende Bausubstanz ein und schafft Raum für eine multifunktionale Nutzung des Gebäudes. Dabei finden Gastronomie, Seminarräume und ein flexibel nutzbarer Veranstaltungssaal Raum. Diese erzeugen gemeinsam Synergieeffekte und ermöglichen so eine nachhaltige und langfristige Nutzung der alten Bergstation.

The Alps are a magnet for many people and every year attract numerous visitors to the mountains. Tourism plays a particularly important role in the western regions of Austria, especially in the world- famous winter sports resort of Kitzbühel.Ski tourism in particular has contributed to infrastructure in the mountains over the past century. Today, ski slopes and cable cars shape the cultural landscape in many areas. However, even a cable car eventually ceases operation, such as the old Fleckalmbahn in the KitzSki ski area.This thesis focuses on the repurposing of the decommissioned mountain station of the old Fleckalmbahn in the Kitzbühel Alps. It is located just a few meters from the summit of the Ehrenbachhöhe, the highest point of the Hahnenkamm, and is awaiting a meaningful new use.Based on an analysis of the location, the local architecture significantly influenced by the artist and architect Alfons Walde and a study of various huts and restaurants throughout the Alpine region, design parameters are developed. Particular attention is paid to materiality, room arrangement, structural system and building services.The final design significantly intervenes in the existing structure and creates space for a multifunctional use of the building. It accommodates a restaurant, seminar rooms, and a flexible event hall. Together, these functions generate synergies that enable a sustainable and long-term use of the old mountain station.
