Die Franziskanerkirche und Kloster in Fojnica : historische Analyse und bauliche Bestandserfassung

Abstract

Die Klosterkirche der Heiligen Geistes in Fojnica ist ein wertvolles Nationaldenkmal und eine Sprecherin für die kulturelle und architektonische Vielfalt Bosnien und Herzegowinas. Die Kirche und das Kloster spielten eine zentrale Rolle in der Erhaltung des katholischen Glaubens und der kulturellen Identität der Bevölkerung in der Zeit der osmanischen Herrschaft. Jedoch wurden die Kirche und das Kloster in den letzten Jahrzehnten durch Alterung, die vergangenen Konflikte und diverse Umwelteinflüsse stark beschädigt. Um die Kirche als ein wertvolles Kulturerbe für kommende Generationen zu bewahren ist eine umfassende Restaurierung notwendig.Folgende Fragen habe ich mir im Rahmen meiner Arbeit gestellt: Welche Faktoren haben dazu geführt, dass die Kirche trotz ihres Status als Nationaldenkmal vom Staat so vernachlässigt wurde? Wie könnte ihre Restaurierung und Erhaltung für kommende Generationen an Wichtigkeit gewinnen? Diese Arbeit analysiert die architektonische und historische Bedeutung der Kirche des Heiligen Geistes in Fojnica, ihre Transformation durch die Zeit sowie den Zustand ihrer Schäden, und bewertet die Möglichkeiten einer denkmalgerechten Erneuerung. Dabei werden die rechtlichen und gesellschaftlichen Gegebenheiten in Bosnien und Herzegowina beleuchtet; insbesondere die Gesetze, die für die Erhaltung und Restaurierung von Nationaldenkmälern gelten.Durch eine umfassende Untersuchung der historischen Quellen und Archivmaterialien wird das Verständnis für die Rolle der Kirche und des Klosters vertieft, und eine Bestandsanalyse für künftige Forschungen geleistet. Ziel ist es, die Kirche und das Kloster als lebendiges Zeugnis der Vergangenheit zu erhalten und ihre Bedeutung für zukünftige Generationen zu bewahren.

The Monastery Church of the Holy Spirit in Fojnica is a valuable national monument and a speaker for the cultural and architectural diversity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The church and monastery played a central role in preserving the Catholic faith and the cultural identity of the population during the period of Ottoman rule.However, the church and the monastery have been severely damaged in recent decades due to ageing, past conflicts and environmental influences. To preserve the church as a valuable cultural heritage for future generations, comprehensive restoration is necessary.As part of my work, I asked myself the following questions: What factors have led to the church being so neglected by the state despite its status as a national monument? How could its restoration and preservation become more important for future generations?This work analyses the architectural and historical significance of the church of the Holy Spirit in Fojnica, its transformation through time as well as the state of damage and evaluates the possibilities for monumental renewal. It examines the legal and social conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in particular the laws that apply to the preservation and restoration of national monuments.A comprehensive study of the historical sources and archive materials will deepen our understanding of the role of the church and the monastery and provide an inventory analysis for future research. The aim is to preserve the church and monastery as living testaments to the past, ensuring their continued significance for future generations.
