Electron dynamics in graphitic surfaces, crystalline graphite, highly oriented pyrolitic graphite (HOPG), single- and bilayer graphene, have been studied employing two different methods to establish causality: electron pair spectroscopy and time-resolved attosecond photoelectron emission spectroscopy. The coincidence spectra exhibit signatures of Feshbach resonances resulting from the interlayer character of final states strongly coupling to vacuum, forming electronic doorway states through which electrons escape. Time- and k-space reolved photoemission spectra display a momentum dependent phase shift for the M-points which is related to the direction of the incoming photon field and the symmetry of the electronic structure.
