dc.description.abstract
A part of the CityWalk 2.0* project team proposes to deliver a presentation aimed at exploring different approaches and effective strategies for redesigning urban spaces and influencing travel behaviour to prioritize walking and cycling over car usage. The CityWalk 2.0 project, funded by the Interreg Danube programme aims to promote energy transition in the transport sector by drastically reducing energy use of urban transport. It is an initiative aimed at redesigning urban spaces to enhance walkability and promote Active Mobility as the primary mode of transportation. This presentation will provide an overview of the project’s goals, methodologies, and key findings, with a particular focus on how improved infrastructure, behavioural change strategies, and supportive policies can reshape urban mobility. By showcasing successful implementations and case studies from CityWalk 2.0 partner cities, we will highlight how this approach fosters community connectivity and enhances the overall quality of people’s walking experiences.
