We demonstrate the first 34-mm long truly waveguide large cross-section (up to 50µm) ultrafast Cr:ZnS amplifier with high output beam quality M²∼1.2 at 2.35W of average output power, 5.5dB/cm gain and 204fs compressed pulse duration.
