Der demographische Wandel, der sich in Österreich bzw. in ganz Europa abzeichnet, wird einige Probleme und Herausforderungen mit sich bringen. Eines der größten Probleme wird die Überalterung der Bevölkerung sein. Infolgedessen wird Wohnen im Alter eines der zentralsten zukunftsorientierten Themen für die Architektur. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist nicht nur die Schaffung von altersgerechten Wohnformen und eines Familienzentrums, sondern die Verknüpfung dieser Beiden, um ein Maximum von Synergieeffekten und Mischnutzung zu erzeugen. Ein Mehrgenerationen - Zentrum, das Begegnung fördert und Kooperation mit anderen sozialen Netzwerken sucht. Die zukünftigen Bewohner sollen ein adäquates Umfeld vorfinden, in dem Sie sich Individuell verwirklichen und aktiv betätigen können. Hauptgegenstand der Arbeit bildet der Entwurf eines Sozialzentrums mit Flächen für Familienzentrum, Fitnesscenter, Tagesbetreuung, betreubares Wohnen und stationärer Pflege. Der Bauplatz befindet sich in der oberösterreichischen Barockstadt Schärding, nahe dem historischen und denkmalgeschütztem Stadtkern. Die bestehende Bebauung, ein Alten- und Pflegeheim, wird abgerissen und durch ein neues Sozialzentrum ersetzt. Weiters soll eine bestmögliche architektonische Verbindung zwischen dem barocken Stadtkern und moderner Architektur hergestellt werden.

The demographic change that is occurring in Austria and across Europe will bring some problems and challenges .Aging will be one of the biggest problems. The consequence - living old age is one of the most central themes for the architecture of the future. The ain of this project is not just to create age-appropriate living and a family center it is much more the linking of these two to produce a maximum of synergy effects and mixed use. More generation center encourages encounter and the cooperation with social networks. The future inhabitants should live their individuality. Main object of this work is the design of a social center with different areas : a family center, a fitness center, day care, care homes and inpatient care. The building site is located in the Upper Austrian baroque town Schärding near the historical town center. The current retirement home is demolished and is replaced by a new social center. The architectural link between the baroque town center and modern architecture is to be established.
