Digitalisation has intensified the joint development of human-machine interaction in co-design and co- production. This paper describes the development of a safety passport for manufacturing machines in accordance with the requirements of the new EU machinery regulation. Due to increasing network processes in industry, the efficient implementation of safety measures is essential. Based on the digital product passport, the concept examines a seamless integration of the safety passport across the entire life cycle of manufacturing machines. Aligning the safety passport with existing development processes and a comprehensive approach to integrating safety aspects from design to disassembly and correct disposal is emphasised and placed in line with standards and risk assessment. Our use case provides a practical context, in which successful implementations are presented and potential challenges will be highlighted.
