We present a study on detectors based on interband transitions within InAs/AlSb quantum cascade detectors (QCDs) on GaSb substrates. The type-II band alignment in a cascade photovoltaic structure enables shortwave infrared interband optical transitions, in addition to the designed mid-infrared intersubband transitions.
