Future orbital space stations will serve as key platforms for long-term human presence in space, supporting research, industry, and commercial activities. This presentation explores design advancements, including modular architecture, large space structures, artificial gravity concepts, and life support innovations, with a focus on habitability. Drawing from a recent design studio and the pioneering work of Hermann Noordung, we examine how next-generation stations may look like and how those could enhance crew well-being, functionality, and sustainability in space.
