Access to nature and outdoor recreation is increasingly recognised as a universal human right. Yet, online information about wheelchair accessible outdoor activities is provided only in fragmented, inconsistent, and overly simplified ways. We critically examine websites, apps, government portals, and community-driven resources on wheelchair-accessible nature and outdoor activities in Austria. We highlight conceptual gaps, which often draw on an "accessible/inaccessible"binary that does not account for the diverse realities wheelchair users live in. Further, we find that there is no standardized approach to recording or reporting barriers such as slope, surface, or required facilities. In particular, we drill down on three case studies that illustrate promising practices alongside their associated challenges and shortcomings. We argue that accessibility - especially in natural environments - is a continuum rather than a binary attribute, and that online resources subsequently need to provide nuanced, contextual information to enable self-determined planning and decision making for wheeling outdoors.
