dc.description.abstract
Battery electric vehicle markets have expanded rapidly over the past decade, driven by declining battery costs, supportive policy frameworks, and increasingly ambitious climate targets. However, growth dynamics differ substantially across countries, regions, and vehicle segments. In this context, it is particularly important to analyze recent market trends in leading electric vehicle markets alongside cost developments, while also highlighting key challenges such as charging infrastructure deployment, critical raw material demand, and affordability constraints. Finally, policy strategies and priorities play a decisive role in ensuring a cost-efficient, socially equitable, and resource-conscious transition to electric mobility.
