The project is located at the southern tip of Lower Manhattan in New York. The City, that invented the skyscraper as we know it today and cultivated it. The site is located behind the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel entrance. Ahead of the tunnel's ventilation, building is the Battery Park. The site offers an open view into New York's Upper Bay. The project is a 340 m tall skyscraper. The design concept was to shape a massive concrete block to obtain the final form of the building. The cut out parts are covered with mirror glass, whereas the remaining parts of the block are dull and dark. The contrast between the materials produces tension and incites to assume that there is something special underneath the concrete shell. The remaining parts are covered with irregular pattern of bays, which becomes more and more intense towards the spire. It is a mixed-use building accommodating offices, a hotel and residences. The residence floors are located on top, offering a unique all-around vista over Manhattan. Furthermore, there are public areas on several floors.
