dc.description.abstract

This project is concerned with environments of labour. Following an analysis of the chosen building site and a general discussion of 'productive architecture', the main emphasis of this thesis is the design of an open house for the pursuit of professional craft. The goal is not to design a traditional workshop in the sense of a carpentry or a tailor-s shop, but rather the conceptualisation of an environment that not only offers exhibition and archive space but primarily offers opportunity for the realisation of various productive practices.
